'Melo joining the Knicks is huge, but there is something BIGGER that we may be missing...

Finally, Carmello Anthony joins the Knicks. Don't get me wrong this is tremendous. The next Knicks game is tonight where Anthony will be introduced. The Garden will be buzzing. This is also 'Legends Night' where some the best all time NY Knicks will be honored. There will be one missing- Mark Jackson.

Mark Jackson's brother Troy "Escalade" Jackson passed away in his sleep 2 days ago. Troy grew up in the Half Hollow Hills School District. I recall as a Commack HS alum watching the Cougars struggle (not surprising) against Half Hollow Hills and seeing Troy in action. Excellent ball handling skills, great floor awareness, but you couldn't miss him. He was quite overweight. Troy passed away at age 35 weighing 400 pounds. This is a tragedy.

Obesity is a worldwide pandemic. There is no other country in the world as overweight as the United States. 190 million Americans are overweight or obese. 1/3 of all American children are considered overweight or obese. Currently 64% of the general population is considered overweight or obese, with projections in the next 3 years going up to 75%. We all know someone who struggles with their weight, it may be our own battle.

We have all heard the risks of being obese. The New England Journal of Medicine pointed out that 15 percent of cancer deaths were tied to being overweight. Heart attacks related to being overweight, are the No. 1 cause of death for American men. The risk of developing gallstones is seven times higher than for people of average weight. The relationship of body weight and the onset of type 2 diabetes are well documented.

There is help, and it comes in a shape of a round sky blue siloutte. Call us, we will talk. To follow, the most exciting weight loss diet that works and continues to work-HCG. Check it out. It can save your life. More to come...
